01Grass-fed tallow
The foundation.
At the heart of Dragon’s Blood is pure beef tallow made with suet from grass-fed, grass-finished cattle.
Rich and deeply emollient, tallow creates the luxurious, protective texture that makes this balm so satisfying on dry skin.
Our tallow is carefully purified without bleach or chemical deodorizers, preserving the simple character of this traditional skin-conditioning fat.
Why we chose itNaturally rich. Exceptionally conditioning. Beautifully simple.
02African shea butter
Rich, traditional nourishment.
Our African shea butter is traditionally handmade in Ghana through a women’s cooperative, carrying generations of knowledge from their hands into our formula.
Raw and unrefined, it retains the naturally rich character of the shea nut. Traditional preparation without chemical extraction preserves the qualities we value in this beautiful butter.
Its creamy texture complements our tallow, bringing softness, luxurious glide, and a velvety finish to Dragon’s Blood.
Why we chose itRich moisture. Traditional craftsmanship. A beautiful ingredient with a human story.
03Dragon’s Blood resin
A remarkable resin. A distinctive ritual.
At the heart of our botanical infusion is Dragon’s Blood resin from Dracaena cinnabari — a deep red plant resin with a long history in traditional botanical preparations.
We begin with the resin itself, gently infusing it into our warm tallow-and-shea base before carefully filtering away the remaining particles.
The infusion brings the resin’s distinctive botanical character and naturally rose-toned warmth into a balm that leaves skin feeling soft, smooth and beautifully conditioned.
Why we chose itA distinctive botanical heritage, carefully infused into a luxurious daily balm.
04Helichrysum italicum CO₂ extract
The golden flower, beautifully captured.
Known as Immortelle, Helichrysum italicum is treasured in botanical skin-care traditions. We select a concentrated extract made from its flowers using supercritical CO₂ extraction.
This precise process uses carbon dioxide under controlled pressure and temperature to draw out oil-compatible aromatic and botanical compounds. After extraction, the carbon dioxide is released, leaving a rich flower extract that blends beautifully into oils and butters.
CO₂ extraction can capture a broader range of the flower’s aromatic and heavier oil-compatible constituents than steam distillation alone — giving our extract its full, resinous botanical character.
Its warm, honeyed floral notes complement the resin infusion and bring depth to the balm’s natural aroma. We blend it in as the base cools, finishing Dragon’s Blood with a thoughtful botanical touch.
Why we chose itA concentrated flower extract, exceptional botanical character, and a luxurious finishing note.
