WHY WE CHOSE GHK-Cu

GHK-Cu, often called copper peptide, is one of the ingredients that made Immortal Blue possible. We chose it because its use in skincare is backed by decades of scientific interest — including human studies examining its effects on the visible signs of aging.

STUDIED IN WOMEN

In a 12-week study involving 41 women with mild to advanced photodamage around the eyes, a topical GHK-Cu eye cream was reported to reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles, improve overall appearance, and increase measured skin density and thickness.

A separate 12-week study involving 71 women with mild to advanced facial photoaging reported that topical GHK-Cu improved skin density and thickness while reducing the appearance of skin laxity, fine lines, and wrinkle depth.

These studies are part of what drew us to GHK-Cu when developing Immortal Blue.

WHY TOPICAL DELIVERY MAKES SENSE

GHK-Cu is especially interesting in skincare because it can be applied directly to the skin you want to care for.

Human-skin research examining topical GHK-Cu has shown that copper delivered as the GHK-Cu complex can penetrate into skin tissue, with a portion also remaining within the skin as a localized depot.

That means topical application places GHK-Cu right at the site where it is intended to be used — whether that is around the eyes, across the face, along the neck, or anywhere else Immortal Blue is applied.

GHK-Cu has also been studied for its interaction with fibroblasts and the extracellular matrix — the biological structures closely associated with collagen, skin density, firmness, and the appearance of healthy skin.

For us, that combination of human cosmetic research, targeted topical delivery, and fascinating skin biology made GHK-Cu an obvious ingredient to explore for Immortal Blue.
